Preparing for an IT Support Request
Include the number of affected users or devices, the exact error message and what changed before the problem began. Explain whether the issue is constant or intermittent and whether it stops the whole office or just one workstation. A screenshot can help, but remove confidential information first.
For maintenance or installation work, describe your existing equipment and the systems that must remain available. Access requirements, proposed changes, any interruption to service and the timing of the work should be discussed before the work starts.
For ongoing support, ask about the proposed maintenance scope and availability rather than assuming an automatic response time. Location, work requirements and support arrangements need to be confirmed. Do not send passwords or remote-access credentials in an initial enquiry.
Connection or WiFi problems may need a closer look at the office network. Explore network services.
